Without your support this would not be possible
We'd like to say Thank You to the following people and organisations that have helped
us along the way - we really appreciate your support:
Gambia Education & Teaching Support
A massive vote of thanks goes to everyone at GETS
and GTS,
especially Jerreh and Kabs for all their legwork, phone calls and organisation that helps keep the building
project going, and for looking after us during our frequent visits to The Gambia.
Running Imp International
Since day one Neil and Caroline have provided trophies and medals for the players.
The impact these medals have had on the children is immeasurable. To give them
a medal has triggered a reaction I have never seen before. Now, Running
Imp have donated 43 t-shirts for our Gambian team.
Carlton UK
Toby Marcham helped secure the Badminton evening with Gail Emms and Nathan
Robertson. Carlton have also donated
enough shuttles to last many years in Africa.
Gail Emms and Nathan Robertson
These olympic champions took time out of their busy schedule to spend an evening
in Lincolnshire with 300 of our young players. The influence they had on our young
players was immense - all part of our fundraising for Africa. They have offered
up a special prize of an hour playing or coaching against the world’s best
mixed doubles partnership.
William Farr School
Paul Strong, Terry Lane, David Muldown, Trevor Hughes and the PE department
at William Farr School in Welton,
Lincolnshire. Simply, without these people the project would exist in a very minor
form. They have all been brilliant and their support has been there since day
one. Allowing me usage of the sports hall and school children during term time
to raise funds in a 28 hour marathon; loaning £3,000 for the roof to allow
me to start work on it before the rainy season; offering advice on fund raising;
printing pictures and loaning me a camera for my trips to Africa.
Central Sports
Chris Jones of Central Sports
in Coventry has always supported my charity events in Lincoln either by donating
a prize or attending in person to work with the children. Chris gave me the idea
of involving the Badminton England magazine.
Badminton England Magazine
William Kings for his time in helping me to prepare an article for the Badminton
England magazine that has over-night changed the size and ambitions of our
project.
Mandy and Dave Garnham
My true helpers, covering all my Badminton needs and support whilst I am away
in Gambia, attending all the fundraising functions and taking time out to help
me plan them all and manage the children. Over a short period of time have become
my best friends.
Ellison Boulters School, Welton St Mary’s School and Nettleham Junior School
For all their support in allowing me to show a Power Point presentation to their schoolchildren in return for a charity day raising funds.
