Tim Mawer

Tim Mawer

Tim is a Badminton England PT2 Coach based in Lincolnshire and has enjoyed working on the project since its introduction during 2004, setting out a goal of providing a hall, weekly training and developing the sport throughout Gambia.

"Since starting this project with Les I have visited The Gambia 18 times, working with many Gambian people. We now have two teams and the new team sees more challenges and hopefully putting right mistakes made since day one. This is an exciting project that part of me is attached too and my aims are simple, give Africans the right to play sport.

"I am delighted to be involved and have made many friends from the continued experience. You too can also make a difference."

Bill Richmond

Bill is our webmaster and hails from Newcastle upon Tyne. Although not a professional website designer, he manages a few sites in his spare time and created our website in May 2005.

"I have never stepped foot on a badminton court but I'm keen to support the team's efforts by continuing to manage this site on behalf of Gambia Badminton."

Thanks to those who have helped me out since 2004:

Lesley Hedley

Lesley provided the initial leading light.

Steve Porter

Steve provided valuable advice and financial help on the way.

Leo Medley

Sometimes in life someone comes along whose presence puts a huge smile on your face and lifts you. Leo since his initial trip in November 2005 has been that person. Leo has moved on now and I wish to thank him for his efforts and friendship and wish him well in the future.
